Healthy Habits to Start in 2023
With 2023 right around the corner, I've taken some time to reflect on 2022 and everything I want to improve in the next year. I've made a list of different things I want to work on and figured I would share it with you in case any of you need some inspiration. I'm not usually the "new year's resolution" type, but there are definitely some things I want to work on and this feels like the perfect time to start.
The thing I want to focus on the most is journaling. In 2021, I used to journal a lot and it really helped to improve my life in so many ways. I sort of stopped journaling within this past year, and I've definitely been more anxious and more sad than normal. I think journaling more will help me to control my anxiety and sadness a lot better.
I also really want to limit my social media time. Like the majority, I am very addicted to my phone and I will spend hours on end scrolling through Tik Tok. It's a severely bad habit that I need to fix right away. I don't plan on completely cutting out social media, but I want to limit my time so I can spend more time in the present moment and prioritize my time better. When I do use social media, I want to make sure I am not consuming negative content. I want my online interactions to be positive, so that it doesn't put me in a bad mood like it does so often. This one will be hard to stick to, but I'm going to try my best because I know it will improve my life so much.
I'm going to start going to the gym more and stick to a good and steady routine. I really want to prioritize my physical health so I can feel good and healthy. I know that the better I feel physically, the better I will feel mentally. The gym is a scary place for me because I get anxious working out around others, but I know this is something I can do and something that will be good for me if I can stick to a steady routine.
I'm definitely going to start prioritizing my hobbies more. I love reading, writing, drawing, painting, etc., but I don't do any of those things as often as I would like to. I want to focus on those things I like so I can improve my skills. I really want to start reading more for sure. I used to love reading and it would take up most of my time. I don't want to be constantly reading, but I'm going to try to take 30 minutes to an hour out of my day. Reading was always something that relaxed me and calmed my anxiety so I'm hoping it will still have the same effects on me.
I absolutely need to start prioritizing myself and my mental health. I've noticed that I've been lacking on self care and doing things for me. 2023 is going to be all about me and my mental health. I'm very excited to see how these changes improve my life and the person I will become next year.
Journaling is they key- thanks for the post!
